  1. 7:30 AM Last Morning Walk

    Final stroll through Sakae. Say goodbye to the city.

  2. 8:00 AM Breakfast — Komeda or Hotel

    One more Komeda morning set, or grab something at the hotel.

    Traveling light if you sent luggage yesterday.

  4. 10:00 AM Subway to Nagoya Station

    Higashiyama Line, ~10 min. Head to the JR platforms for the Hida Limited Express.

  5. 10:30 AM Hida Limited Express to Gero

    Scenic ~90 min ride through the Hida River valley into the mountains. Request a right-side seat (window D) for the best river views. The landscape shifts from city to forested gorges. Your first glimpse of rural Japan.

  • Book Hida Express at JR ticket window or online — reserved seats recommended
  • Right-side window (seat D) has the river valley views
  • The train ride itself is a highlight — watch the scenery shift
