Itinerary

  1. Revisit cherry blossoms — different light in the morning.

  2. Free. Former Edo Castle grounds — massive stone walls, moats, Ninomaru garden. ~1.5 hours. One of the best cherry blossom spots in the city.

  3. Hilltop temple back in Asakusa with quirky daikon radish offerings. Quiet, uncrowded.

  4. 12:00 PM Lunch near Imperial Palace area

    Many options around the Marunouchi business district. Or head toward Tokyo Dome early.

  5. One of Tokyo's oldest Edo-period gardens, right next to the dome. Cherry blossoms, stone bridges, Edo-era landscape. Lovely afternoon stroll.

  6. LaQua Spa at Tokyo Dome City has natural hot spring water. Great pre-game soak.

  7. Inside Tokyo Dome. Japanese baseball history and memorabilia. Kill time before the game.

  8. First pitch 6:00 PM. Eat at the game — stadium food is part of the experience.

Tips

  • Imperial Palace gardens close if it rains — but Friday should be clear
  • Korakuen Garden is a perfect pre-game warm-up, right next door
  • LaQua Spa is pricey but a proper onsen experience with natural hot spring water
  • Get to the Dome early — soak up the atmosphere, buy snacks
